Weddings at the Kirk of the Holy Rood

Your wedding. Your story. Your day.

Every couple has a different story.

Some have grown up in the church. Others may have little experience of church but are drawn to the meaning, beauty and tradition of a Christian wedding.

Wherever you are on your journey, we want your wedding service to be personal, meaningful and memorable.

A church wedding is more than a beautiful setting. It is a public declaration of your love and commitment, made in the presence of family and friends and before God.

It is a moment to say:

"I choose you."

"I will walk with you."

"We will build our life together."

And to ask God to bless the journey ahead.

What happens when you enquire?

1. Start with a conversation

Get in touch with us and tell us about your plans. You don't need to have everything decided. You don't even need to know exactly what questions to ask. We'll listen and help you understand what comes next.

2. Meet with the minister

The minister will meet with you to talk about your relationship, your hopes for your wedding and what a Christian marriage means. It's also an opportunity for you to ask questions.

3. Plan your service

We'll talk through the order of service, vows, readings, hymns, music, prayers and the people you would like to involve.

4. Prepare for your marriage

A wedding is one day. A marriage is a lifetime. As part of preparing for your wedding, we will encourage you to think not only about the ceremony itself but also about the promises you are making and the life you are beginning together.

5. Celebrate your wedding

Then comes the day you've been waiting for. Family and friends gather. The music begins. You make your promises. You say, "I do." And together, we pray God's blessing on the life ahead.

Your wedding at the Kirk of the Holy Rood

The Kirk of the Holy Rood provides a beautiful setting for a Christian wedding in the heart of Grangemouth.

But what matters most to us is you.

We will work with you to prepare a service that reflects who you are as a couple while remaining rooted in the Christian understanding of marriage.

There is room for the things that make your wedding uniquely yours:

  • Your choice of music

  • Hymns and readings

  • Personal stories

  • Family involvement

  • Prayers and blessings

  • Your wedding vows

  • The people you want beside you

  • Moments of joy, reflection and thanksgiving

We'll help you understand what is possible and guide you through the process.
